West Columbia Citizens On Patrol

OBJECTIVES 

  • To assist the police department through observation.
  • To help reduce crime in the community
  • To educate citizens on crime prevention
  • To increase public presence in the residential and business areas
  • To improve the quality of life in the community
  • To provide a safe, secure environment for all the community

ELIGIBILITY 

  1. Participant must be 21 years of age or older.
  1. Participant must either reside within the city limits of West Columbia; or own a business within the city limits of West Columbia.
  1. Have the ability to recognize, understand, and report suspicious activity, and be skilled in communicating effectively with individuals.
  1. Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  1. Capable of patrolling on foot or in a vehicle.
  1. Provide own transportation and proof of auto insurance.
  1. Successfully complete the training program provided by the West Columbia Police Department.
  1. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
  1. Must possess a valid Class “C” Texas Driver License.
