Varner-Hogg plantation house.

The Varner-Hogg plantation is one of the oldest in Texas. It is located two miles north of Hwy 35 on 13th street. Established in 1824 by Martin Varner.  The house was built in 1835 by the Columbus Patton family. Santa Anna was held prisoner here in 1836.  Given to the State of Texas by Miss Ima Hogg in 1958. The park is open daily 8:00 A.M. to dark.


House tours 9:00 A.M.-Noon and 1:00pm-4:00pm
Wednesday through Sunday.
